Lollipop Baby Monitor (Honest) Review - by Twin Parents
There are so many baby monitors out there these days that it can feel quite overwhelming! Some will say “you don’t need one”, others will swear by it.
Being a twin mom, I wanted a baby monitor that either came with two monitors or one where you were able to connect two at once. I wasn’t sure if my two babes would be able to sleep together in the same room or not, so this was important. I also wanted to be sure it had the newest features to make our busy lives even a tad easier.

How Versatile It Is
I was excited at the thought of being able to manipulate the stem any which way to hang it on the crib or lay on a shelf – but when I opened the box, it came with an array of gadgets to setup the monitor on the wall or securely on the crib. (*NOTE: they have the option for you to purchase a longer 30cm stem if needed for thicker crib rails which we had done). It is super easy to install. They now have a floor stand which is also quite convenient. After all, we want convenience when we become parents!
Crossing Detection
Now this one is COOL. I didn’t realize how much I needed this until I used this feature. You are able to draw a border in the camera view (which is CRYSTAL CLEAR by the way) around your little one. If any part of their body goes out of this border, you get notified. This is incredibly helpful as one of our babes likes to move a lot throughout the night and has gotten his arm stuck between the crib bars. What else is great, is that you don’t need a subscription service to be able to use this feature!
It Doubles as a Sound Machine
Now, this saves you money on purchasing a separate sound machine and it is super convenient that is not only plays lullabies, but also plays a variety of white noise. Having a white noise machine is crucial, especially with twins in my opinion. When you’ve got two babes needing a nap at the same time, white noise can help block out surrounding sounds or each other’s cry.
True Crying Detection
I never thought this was a necessary feature, but my goodness it is. Having the nursery on the top floor, it can be hard to hear either babe cry when they need something. The crying detection not only notifies you, but it ONLY notifies you if the baby is actually crying. It is so sensitive that it blocks out environmental sounds so you’re not rushing to babe when they’re actually asleep.
Breathing Monitor
Now this feature is unique to say the least. I wasn’t sure if having this feature would make me feel more relaxed or more paranoid…the answer is it made me feel more relaxed! I knew I would get notified if anything changed. I didn’t feel the need to keep checking on the babes or my phone. Keep in mind that you will require a subscription to use this service*.
Family Sharing
You may think you won’t use this a lot, but it comes in handy when your family or friends are away and want to see your baby. The best part is that you can decide when to turn on the camera view and turn it off, so you don’t have to worry about leaving it on. It can work well when you have a family member watching your babe and they can have access to their monitor through their phone through the night, or for family who may be afar and may want a sneak peek. This feature is actually very thoughtful.
Lollipop Temperature Sensor
We opted to get the temperature sensor as well which is a useful addition to the nursery! It is compact and can be placed anywhere in the room. It monitors the temperature, humidity and overall air quality in your little ones room. If something isn’t right, you will get notified right away! It is great for helping to determine if a humidifier or air purifier is needed, rather than just purchasing one because most other parents do!

Overall, I give the Lollipop Baby Monitor a genuine thumbs up. As twin parents, it is inexpensive compared to other smart baby monitors - even with having to get two cameras.
